Burnout creeps up on you.
You’ve been putting your all into your career for a long time, and it’s felt meaningful and worthwhile. Until it didn’t. Maybe you’re taking stock and wondering what happened...
Is there a difference between your work and the rest of your life, or does everything feel like an unending list of tasks?
Are you having a hard time caring about your work in the same way you used to? Is it feeling sort of stupid to be doing the same tasks, day in and day out?
Do you find yourself getting sick more often, having unexplained physical symptoms, or feeling exhausted all the time? Have you had panic attacks, or fears of dying at your desk?
Have you been called a workaholic? Do your family or friends complain that you never have time for them, or that you’re snappy and irritable? Do you even have the energy to have relationships?
Do you feel like it’s hard to just get through a day? Are you feeling so disorganized and forgetful that you get pissed at yourself for not functioning well? Are you turning to substances or distractions to numb out and cope?
If you are exhausted thinking about work, feel increasingly distant and cynical about your job, and concerned about the trajectory you’re on, it’s time to reach out for help.
Recovery is in sight.
Work-related stress compounds over time. Unrealistic work expectations, micromanagement, poor instructions, isolation, and lack of support all lead to burnout. Maybe you think it’s due to your own lack of focus or inability to work continuously, but really, it’s not your fault.
Working with me will give you a space to:
figure out what is really meaningful in your life
start accepting what is possible and what is not possible
learn skills to support your physical and emotional well-being
make choices based on what you actually want, not just what you think is expected of you
get curious about what a life not focused on work could be like
You deserve a place where you can be a whole person, not a “human resource.” I won’t force you to be somehow even more productive. Therapy is for deep healing, not figuring out how to burn the candle at both ends. You can recover from burnout, and find joy in life again.
